MB Country Living is pleased to offer 1 opportunity per semester in each of our seven retail stores. We are able to be flexible with our store support co-ops in order to support the candidate’s opportunity to experience their particular area of interest. While all positions are ‘flex’ roles in our stores, meaning every staff members is trained to work both on the sales floor and in the warehouse, we are able to place more of a focus on one or the other. Opportunities in both departments vary from providing direct customer service in face to face interactions to indirect customer service by caring for and maintaining the products and facility. Activities can include but are not limited to:

Greeting customers as they enter the store and hosting them throughout their stay

Answering any questions customers may have and finding any answers for them you don’t know

Working with product: stock rotation, price labelling, display building
-
Maintaining store cleaning and organizational standards throughout all customer areas and the warehouse

Providing customer carry outs and load ups at the dock

Office Administration Support
Available Positions: 1
Minor Bros Head Office is able to offer an opportunity to begin development of office administration skills in a professional setting. Activities can include but are not limited to:

Clerical duties including filing for AP/AR and the production feed mill

Creating and printing appropriate shipping and storage labels
-
Participating in accurate completion of paperwork
-
Answering the front door and phone
-
Connect guests and delivery services with the appropriate departments
-
Contribute positively to the office environment through participation in various culture building

The Minor Bros Maintenance Department offers a variety of opportunities for those with mechanical inclination interested in going into the trades. Opportunities vary from using your hands and working with hand tools to logistics planning and scheduling. Activities can include but are not limited to:

Cost Tracking – Gather invoices for a given period and track the costs. Create a chart to compare for all stores. Analyze the data to determine highest to lowest forklift costs and why. Identify areas of opportunity and present an action plan for follow up to the Head of Maintenance.

Production & Operations Support

The Minor Bros Operations and Production Managers are pleased to offer a variety of opportunities to learn skills in business, management, operations, and safety. Activities can include but are not limited to:

Represent MB in communications with vendors and partner companies via phone to request information

Project Example – Operation Efficiency Analysis:
Data Mapping – Create a digital map to track the distance the customer delivery truck travelled in a certain time frame. Ensure 100% accuracy of the significant data load. Present to the Head of Operations to discuss and analyze from a ‘big picture’ perspective re: areas of future opportunity and successful or inefficient planning.

Post-Secondary Engineering Technology Internship

Opportunities can vary from performing analysis on existing systems, assisting in the design and development of future systems, production operations, testing, and safety systems engineering.
